Vinery Stud has changed terms for its clients going forward and service fees will now be payable on a live foal basis.

“We’ve spoken about ‘Live Foal Payment’ for some time, however, the uncertain climate due to coronavirus makes it an ideal time to be introduced this year,” Vinery Bloodstock Manager Adam White reasoned.  “Among the many advantages for our clients are that it assists their cash-flow and long-term plans.

“It means we have to wait a bit longer for payment but on the other hand it allows broodmare owners a bit longer to budget and gives them more flexibility.”

Group 1 winning newcomer Exceedance joins a well-balanced roster at Vinery in 2020.  “He won the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and certainly looks an exciting prospect,” White said.  “He’s let down beautifully and farms like Yarraman, Corumbene, Kia Ora, Edinburgh Park and Sledmere have booked in mares, which is so important for his future.

All Too Hard is an established Top 10 stallion in Australia and he’s Top 5 for Stakes wins this season.  That’s been reflected at the yearlings sales – they averaged $156k at the Gold Coast, $100k at Classic and $135k at Premier – at an overall clearance rate of 96%.

“Our first season sires Headwater and Press Statement are punching out 2yo winners and they were both represented in the Group 1 J J Atkins.  Headwater had a good winter carnival with Wisdom Of Water winning a Group 3 and Be Water My Friend running third in the Dalrello Stakes last Saturday.

Star Turn has his first runners in 2020-21.  Mention his name to the breakers, who we’re getting a lot of great feedback from, and they reckon his stock will definitely go early.  I guess they say that about nearly all the new sires but it’s justified with Star Turn.”

Exceedance heads the Vinery roster at $38,500 alongside All Too Hard at an unchanged fee of $27,500.  Star Turn is priced at $16,500 while Headwater and Press Statement are both available at $13,750.  And owner-breeders looking for a bargain need look no further than the established winner-getter Casino Prince at $5,500. His value is highlighted by the fact that his average progeny earnings on the track are $89,831 (18x fee) per runner!  All fees (inc GST).
