All Too Hard’s growing reputation as a multi-skilled sire was shown to advantage again on Wednesday with a juvenile double in Sydney and Melbourne.

Forbidden Love landed the Bisley Workwear Plate (1100m) on debut at Warwick Farm and D’Arbanville was even more impressive with a second-leg victory in the Ladbrokes Hcp (1300m) at Sandown Hillside.

The Vinery Champion is better known for 3yo classic winners like his Gr.1 superstar Alligator Blood but his latest 2yo crop jumped the gun this season with Hard Landing (VRC Maribyrnong Plate Gr.3) and Hard Rock Girl (SAJC Cinderella Stakes LR).

Forbidden Love (2f All Too Hard – Juliet’s Princess by More Than Ready) tracked the speed under Tommy Berry and had enough in hand to hold off Godolphin favourite Raison D’Etre clocking a quick 1:03.83s which suggests she’s a filly of some quality.

Trainer Richard Freedman bought her for $150,000 from the Bhima Thoroughbreds at the 2019 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  “It was a great ride by Tommy,” Freedman said.  “The owners have been patient and they were rewarded today.”

In-form trainer Danny O’Brien was equally effusive after D’Arbanville powered home at her third start under Craig Williams.  ” We think she’s a very talented filly with a big future,” O’Brien declared.  “She’s still learning but has impressed us at home.”

D’Arbanville (2f All Too Hard – La Renaissance by Astronomer Royal) was bred by Raffles Racing and was a bargain $20,000 buy from Maluka Thoroughbreds at the 2019 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.  “She went really good first-up at Bendigo but then got it all wrong in a Group 3 at Flemington last time,” O’Brien added.  “She ran a fast mid-race sectional down the straight and that softened her up late in the race.

“Craig got her to relax today and she produced a strong finish.  She has a lovely European pedigree and will get out to a mile next season.”

O’Brien bought another All Too Hard at this year’s Melbourne Premier when paying $125,000 for the colt from Mill Park mare Pasadoble (Danehill Dancer).

Victorian-based Maluka Thoroughbreds owners Luke and Mags Anderson have also backed All Too Hard at Oaklands.  They pin-hooked his colt from Crown of Coureuse (Beautiful Crown) for $70,000 at the 2019 Great Southern Foal Sale and on-sold him to Team Hawkes for $240,000 at this year’s Premier Sale.

All Too Hard produced another promising 2yo at the Hawkesbury trials on Monday when Finally Realise won a 760m hit-out in the fastest time (45.10s) of the morning.  Part-owned and trained by Peter Robl, he’s a half-brother to Sylvia’s Mother who complete a Group 3 double in Melbourne last month.
