Russian Revolution added his name to the growing roll-call of Group 1 graduates from Vinery Stud on Saturday.

Trainers Peter & Paul Snowden produced the 3yo colt first-up in the Group 1 Galaxy (1100m) and he finished over the top of stablemate Redzel to score on a Heavy 10 at Rosehill.

It following a spring campaign that peaked with a Group 2 victory over Astern and Capitalist in the Roman Consul Stakes at Randwick. “We did it tough four wide and I had to help him through the ground a bit,” Kerrin McEvoy said. “But he gave his all when I asked for a supreme effort over the last 100 metres.

“He’s a great sprinter.”

Russian Revolution (Snitzel) was catalogued by Vinery at the 2015 Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale when he was knocked down to China Horse Club for $320,000.

After 5 wins in his first 6 starts, the colt has already earned over $808,000 and the Snowdens are looking forward to the $2.50 million Group 1 T J Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 1.

Frolic (Husson) is another Vinery graduate heading to The Championships following a Group 1 second to She Will Reign in the Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) on Saturday.

“The winner actually took my spot and she took a little while to find her feet after that,” Tommy Berry said. “She was gallant in defeat and looks like the perfect horse for the Sires and Champagne Stakes.”

The $1 million Group 1 Inglis Sires’ Produce Stakes is also scheduled for April 1 and the rematch with She Will Reign will be one of the highlights of the meeting.

Frolic defeated the Golden Slipper winner the last time they met at Randwick in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes. Vinery sold her for $100,000 at the 2016 Inglis Classic Sale.

Vinery’s muster from the major yearlings sales in recent years includes the winners of 11 Group 1 races; SHAMUS AWARD (Cox Plate & Australian Guineas), ATLANTIC JEWEL (Thousand Guineas, All-Aged Stakes, Caulfield Stakes & Memsie Stakes), SAMAREADY (Blue Diamond & Moir Stakes), ENTISAAR (SAf Allan Robertson Championship), DELECTATION (Darley Classic ) and Russian Revolution.

The Inglis Australian Easter yearling sale commences in a fortnight when Vinery will offer more Group 1 prospects by Champion USA sire Tapit and its Group 1 residents All Too Hard, More Than Ready and Myboycharlie.

All Too Hard has colts out of Group 1 mares Sacred Choice (Doncaster Hcp) & Polar Success (Golden Slipper) plus a filly from Samaready (Blue Diamond).

The More Than Ready – Sing Hallelujah colt is a half-brother to Group 1 sprinter Hay List (Newmarket Hcp, Manikato Stakes & All-Aged Stakes) and the Myboycharlie – Carnegie Minstrel colt is a half-brother to Group 1 South Australian Derby candidate Morvada (Mossman).

Vinery’s Easter consignment will be available for inspection at Stable 4 as from Wednesday 29th.
