THERE will be no love lost between Vinery stallions More Than Ready and Testa Rossa as their progeny battle it out for the $500,000 Group One MRC Thousand Guineas (1600m) tomorrow.

More Than Ready is represented by pre-post favourite, More Strawberries while local hopes rest with second elect, Sistine Angel.

“What makes this race so interesting is that both fillies are the stand-outs in their respective States,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.
“More Strawberries won two legs of the Princess Series and was beaten a short head in the Gr.1 Flight while Sistine Angel won the Edward Manifold and was desperately unlucky in the Prelude before that.
“It is no wonder they are the two top picks tomorrow.”

Neither filly should need to any excuses given favourable draws – More Strawberries will jump from barrier 3 while Sistine Angel has drawn 11.

“That is the perfect alley for More Strawberries who is sure to be in the running line whereas Sistine Angel can find her feet and hopefully stay out of trouble – come wide and finish off,” says Phelan.

“No matter what happens it promises to be a great race.”
