DUBLEO mare Two Blue was rewarded for her remarkable run of consistency with a tough as teak win yesterday’s ATC De Bortoli Wines BM80 (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Trained at Wyong by Kristen Buchanan hasn’t missed a place in her last ten runs including two wins and four metro seconds.
Jockey Blake Shinn made full use of Two Blue’s natural pace and tactical nous to set the pace but keeping enough to reserve to score the win in a driving finish.
“She is a very tenacious horse and it’s great to see her get this win,” Buchanan said.
“It’s my first Saturday win in town and it’s an awesome feeling.
“And it’s such a great thing for the owners who bred the mare themselves.”
Two Blue is a daughter of Personal Flag mare, Blue Booty, who won 5 races including one each at Rosehill and at Canterbury and retired with earnings of over $100,000.
Two Blue is the second foal of the mare who returned to Dubleo in the 2012 season delivering a bay filly the following season.
