Last Thursday’s Patinack Blue Diamond Preview (Listed, 1000m) winner The Travelling Man became the 18th stakes winner for his sire Mossman, and he has stayed very true to a pattern for the Group One winning son of Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Gr 1, 1700m) winner Success Express. writes Daryl Shearer, ANZ BLoodstock News

Mossman has enjoyed good success with mares carrying Bletchingly (Biscay) in their pedigree and The Travelling Man is another example of this with his maternal grandsire being Best Western, a son of Bletchingly.
Mossman has sired Group winners Segments (Bletchingly) and Pure Energy (Bletchingly) this way along with the Listed winner Ofcourseican (Canny Lad).

Success Express (Hold Your Peace) sired the Railway Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Coogee Walk out of a mare by Bletchingly with the six-time Group winner Staging (Best Western), Flash Trick (Lord Ballina), as well as the likes of Key Business (Bletchingly), Class Success (Bletchingly) and Dashing Blade (Bletchingly) this way.

The Travelling Man is out of mare by Jade Robbery, a son of Mr Prospector, and Mossman is the sire of the Silver Shadow Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) winner Our Sweet Moss (Mossman), who is out of a mare by Straight Strike, another son of Mr Prospector.

Mossman has enjoyed great success with mares carrying Danzig and his son Danehill, with the likes of current Group winners Buffering (Anabaa), Hoofit (Danehill), Stirling Grove (Desert Prince) and Under The Eiffel (Danehill) bred like this.
