Two year-old colt Battlefront was first up from a spell and sent out a red hot favourite for the 900 metre maiden having chased home the likes of Guelph and Twilight Royale in his first two runs back in January.

Stronger and more experienced this time around, he gave nothing else a chance in powering clear to win by two and a half lengths.

A $40,000 Magic Millions purchase for Arrowfield Training from the draft of Luskin Park, Battlefront is the first foal of Gibraltar Range, who won on debut as a two year-old before having only one more start and retiring to stud.  By Rock of Gibraltar (IRE), Gibraltar Range is from French stakes-winner Hancora.

Battlefront is the eighth two year-old winner this season for Testa Rossa and the 510th individual winner sired by Vinery’s prolific stallion.

Testa Rossa is running tenth on the Australian General Sires List and stands at Vinery Stud at a fee of $27,500 inc GST.
