EXCITING Mossman two-year-old Buffering maintained his unbeaten record after an emphatic win in this afternoon’s Qardss Handicap (1200m) at Doomben.

The Robert Heathcote trained gelding has led throughout to win each of his three starts setting up comfortable margins at the finish.

Today’s two-length win was his most comprehensive yet paving the way for Heathcote to make the transition into stakes company during the upcoming Brisbane Winter carnival.

Buffering (by Mossman – Action Annie) cost just $22,000 as a yearling and has so far earned $180,000 thanks in part s string of lucrative QTIS-600 bonuses.

The gelding boasts some high profile connections including former Socceroos Craig Moore, Scott Chipperfield and goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac.

The victory provided some consolation following Neeson’s narow defeat when runner up in the Gr.3 South Pacific Classic at Randwick.  The Mossman gallloper was attempting to complete a Stakes double having won

the AJC Darby Munro at his last start.  Despite the defeat The Joe Pride trained runner has won over $330,000 with five wins and five placings from only twelve starts
