BREEDERS’ Cup Juvenile winner Pluck is proving to be an incredibly fertile stallion as the first 15-day pregnancy confirmations of the 2012/12 season begin to pile up.

The More Than Ready replica is currently working his way through a full book of mares at Vinery’s Hunter Valley HQ and relishing the switch from racetrack to breeding barn.

“Pluck has taken to his new job in great fashion. He works very well in the breeding shed and his first 8 mares have all scanned in foal which is quite incredible,” Vinery’s Adam White.

“We have had a lot of people through the farm both on the open days and generally and everybody has been taken by him. Due to this he has been fully booked for a few weeks now and has attracted a very bunch of mares from some great breeders.”

Pluck won 3 of his 7 starts including that unforgettable triumph in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Turf) where he came from a seemingly hopeless position after being disrupted by a fallen horse going around the first turn.

Pluck’s sire, More Than Ready, has sired an ever growing list of over 100 individual stakeswinners and is now the sire of several promising sire sons around the globe.

Pluck’s first three dams are all Stakeswinners and Gr.1 placed mares and certainly has the family to succeed.  Enquiries
