MYBOYCHARLIE’S first European winner Salai continues to show all the signs of a being a serious 2yo after posting his second win inside his three career starts.

A 55,000 euro purchase, Salai ran out a comfortable winner on debut in France before finishing runner-up at Toulouse a month later.

The Jean-Claude Rouget trained youngster was back to his best on Tuesday winning the Prix Helleniqua (1200m) while giving weight to all of his rivals.

Australian owned SF Bloodstock bred Salai from Mabadi (USA), a three year-old winner at Chester in July 2006 before moving to California where she was G.2 placed at Santa Anita.

Myboycharlie was a Group 1 winner of the 2007 Prix Morny and he began shuttling to Vinery Stud from the English National Stud.

He later changed bases in the northern hemisphere to Haras du Mezeray in Normandy.

Myboycharlie’s oldest Australasian progeny are two-year-old and include the Group 2 placegetters Charlie Boy and Charlestown as well as Adelaide Magic Millions winner Charles In Charge, Randwick winner Dowdstown Charlie and the aptly-named Sprinting Queen who has won in South Africa in May.
