CLEVERLY named Testa Rossa two-year-old Ferrari Star has shown enough natural talent for Group 1 trainer Tony McEvoy to make he trip across from South Australia for Sunday’s coveted Maribrynong Plate (1000m) at Flemington.

Whislt the Ferrari emblem is an elegant prancing horse, this Testa Rossa gelding looked tough and professional when recording a comfortable one-length 900m trial win at Murray Bridge in the slick time of 53.51s.

Testa Rossa was a brilliant two-year-old himself winning the Group 1 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes, Gold Coast Magic Millions, Debutant Stakes and the Maribyrnong Plate (final).

Testa Rossa is the sire of a number of high class juveniles among them the Steve Richards trained Rostova and last season’s equal top-rated 2YO filly, Pane In The Glass, who is favoured to win tomorrow’s Group 1 ATC Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.
