SPORTSMAN’S Caulfield trackman George Lucas has nominated Mick Price’s classy galloper Testa My Patience as the best bet on tomorrow’s star-studded Underwood Stakes card.

Testa My Patience strung together a sequence of four straight wins during the autumn earning himself a brief spell and a crack at the spring riches.

He resumed with a fast finishing second behind Group 1 winner Atomic Force in the Listed MRC Slickpix Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 27.

”That was a slashing first up run behind Atomic Force,” Lucas says,”he got out of his ground and rattled home for a fast closing second.

”He will be fitter for the run and should go very close to winning. On Tuesday morning he worked over 1200m in 1.18.73 and 23.79 last 400m. Follow him this time in.”

Meanwhile in Sydney, Testa Rossa duo Cocky Raider and Pane In The Glass are out to make amends for their luckless efforts at Warwick Farm on September 3.

Cocky Raider continues his march towards the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) on October 1 when he lines-up in the Gloaming Stakes (1800m).

Ace filly Pane In The Glass is on the second line of betting at $4.80 with TAB Sportsbet to win the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) having been dudded by a slow pace in leg two of the Princess Series.

”It was the way they ran the race, very slow, she got back and they ran home in 33 and change so it was basically impossible to get up,” trainer John Thompson said.

”The 1500m at Rosehill should be a bit more genuinely run, so here’s hoping.

”I thought I had her pretty good going into the last run but she definitely seems to have come on a bit again.”
