Despite being faced by a wet track after 24 hours of rain, sizzling times were the order of the day during the first of two Magic Millions breeze up sessions held at the Gold Coast Turf Club today.

Showers persisted during the session and despite this no fewer than 79 horses broke 11 seconds during the day.

The quickest time was recorded by a Testa Rossa colt who stopped the clock in 10.16 seconds for its 200 metre breeze.

Catalogued as lot number 244 and consigned by Washpool Lodge as agent, the chestnut colt is from Decipher – a lightly raced daughter of the multiple Group One winner Electrique.

Sharing the third quickest time of the first session was a filly by Mossman (Lot 60) and a colt by Written Tycoon (Lot 224) – they both went down the 200 metres in 10.24 seconds.

A total of 163 ready made gallopers breezed up today with Vinery Stallions featurnig prominently in the top ten.  A colt by first season sire Excites, breezed very impressively to record 10.35 for the furlong.

The second breeze up session at the Gold Coast Turf Club will commence at 10.30am (Qld time) tomorrow.

Further breeze up sessions will be held at Seymour and Rockhampton on Thursday and Friday respectively.
