THE Peter Moody trained There’s Only One became her sire Testa Rossa’s 44th global stakeswinner when she came with a barnstorming finish to take out the MRC Bellmaine Stakes Gr.3 (1200m) over Koonoomoo at Caulfield yesterday.

Ridden by semi-regular partner Daniel Stackhouse, There’s Only One had only two behind on straightening but let down with her trademark finish to land the prize.
Her weekend effort takes her overall tally to 9 wins and 5 placings from 19 lifetime starts with earnings over just over $400,000.

“She’s been a very consistent mare throughout,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan praised.
”Backmarkers normally lose far more races than they win but she’s been able to win pretty much one out of every two and even when she doesn’t, she’s rarely far away.”

Saturday’s Bellmaine was also a minor triumph for Dubleo mare Koonoomoo who was hard on the pace for the most part to go down by just 0.2-lens behind There’s Only One and Loveyamadly.

Koonoomoo is a winner of $358,811 and managed to win the Group 3 VRC Herald Sun Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day.
