TESTA Rossa son Teronado fired the first shot of his spring campaign with a predictably emphatic win at Doomben on Saturday.

The 4YO Gold Coast trained gelding was unable to overcome a slow start first-up when flashing home for second over the 1200m at Eagle Farm on August 20.

The gelding clearly appreciated stepping up to the 1640m, rushing past his rivals to forge a tremendous win.

Teronado has so far won over $230,000 principally through his autumn preparation which saw him finish fifth in the Australian Guineas at Flemington before coming up to Sydney and finish third and fourth repetitively in the Rosehill and Randwick Guineas.

The Gerry Harvey bred horse is trained by Bruce Hill and is nominated for the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate.

Teronado is one among 51 stakeswinners and exactly 100 stakesperformers by Vinery’s 6-times Group 1 winner Testa Rossa.

His dam, Nassi Doll, is a stakes-placed daughter of Nassipour who is best remembered as the sire of champion chestnuts Let’s Elope and Tie The Knot.
