TESTA Rossa edged closer to a half century of stakeswinners after Australian-bred Taichi Master took out the Listed Selangor Supreme Challenge Trophy (Sng Gr.3) in Malaysia  over the weekend.

The gelding was sold to owner Dr K C Yeoh for $140,000 out of Vinery Stud’s 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Taichi Master has so far won 6 of his 11 starts and is the second stakeswinner out of his superbly bred mare, Magical Sunday who is a daughter of acknowledged breed shaper Sunday Silence.

Magical Sunday produced Big Brown colts in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Testa Rossa is the sire of 525 winners from 710 runners including globetrotting mare and dual hemisphere Group 1 winner Ortensia as well as Rostova, Testafiable, Fontelina and Twilight Royale who will be racing for a $2.4m pay day at the Scone standalone in May 2014
