All Too Royal has continued the winning run for Sydney newcomers Ciaran Maher and David Eustace in the Eric Conlon Hcp (1200m) at Rosehill.
Saturday’s victory was the third this month from their temporary satellite stable in the Harbour City. They will transfer from Rosehill to a permanent facility at Warwick Farm in February.
All Too Royal also maintained the amazing strike-rate of his sire All Too Hard this season. The Vinery champion leads Australia’s third-crop stallions with 66 individual winners of 92 races.
“He is a perfect example of what’s good about having a Sydney stable,” Maher explained. “There have been some nice races here for him and there are opportunities he wouldn’t have had in Melbourne.”
All Too Royal was given time to mature before winning at Bairnsdale and Echuca earlier this season. Following the move north, he won at Canterbury on January 4 prior to another front-running victory on the weekend.
“He wouldn’t have wanted it any further today,” Maher said after his 5th win in 10 starts. “He’s beautifully bred and we’ve always had a good opinion of him.”
All Too Hard sired him from Vinery mare Bel Mer (Bel Esprit) who was a Group 1 winner of the 2009 Robert Sangster Stakes. He cost $270,000 at the 2016 Inglis Easter Sale and will stay in Sydney targeting more of those Benchmark sprints worth $125,000.
Maher was busy stocking up at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale earlier this month and among his buys was Vinery’s Tapit filly from USA Group 3 winner Best Behavior for $300,000. He also purchased a More Than Ready half-brother to Blue Diamond Prelude Gr.2 winner Enbihaar for $300,000.
The next All Too Hard yearlings will go under the hammer at the NZB Karaka Sale commencing this Sunday, January 27. Matamata nursery Bradbury Park starts its draft with Lot 29, an All Too Hard colt from Adelaide stakes winner Fasline (Fasliyev). He is being offered as agent for Nearco Stud owner Greg Tomlinson.
