MORE Than Ready came within just one and a half lengths of pulling off a Golden Slipper treble this afternoon at Rosehill.

The Vinery Stud resident was represented by Brightexpectations and More Strawberries in the $3.5 million feature, both of whom hail from the Gai Waterhouse yard.

While Brightexpectations was unable to reproduce his Pago Pago heroics from last Saturday, stablemate More Strawberries flashed home to take third prize behind Crystal Lily and Decision Time.

More Strawberries was spotting the leaders a considerable start with only behind her in the 15-horse field as the field thundered for home.

“It was an excellent run,” rider Nash Rawiller said.

“ She’s just got ‘Classic’ written all over her. She’s a beautiful filly and will just get better as the distances get longer.”

It was only the third time that More Strawberries had started in a race and comes in the wake of her second placing in the Group Two STC Magic Night Stakes (1200m) on March 27.

The filly is expected to back-up in the Group One AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on April 10.
