Proven stakes producing sire Excites (Danewin-Staging) has been purchased by Queensland interests from Vinery Stud, and will continue his successful career at Springfields Stud at Allora Queensland.

Excites retired after only 10 starts winning the all important Group 1 AJC Sires Produce Stakes and runner up in the great sire making 3yo Group 1 Caulfield Guineas, along with multiple Stakes placed with prize money of $528,000.

“I am absolutely delighted that a horse of the quality and calibre of Excites is coming to stand at Springfields. He is a proven sire with Stakes Winners in his 1st, 2nd and 3rd crops and the sire of Stakes winners Sistine Demon, Excites Zelady, Scream Machine & Flag Officer.” experienced Springfields Stud owner John Dean said yesterday.

“Whilst we are sad to see Excites move on from Vinery, this new home will be a great opportunity for Excites who has done so well on the tracks all around Australia in the past season,” said Vinery General Manager Peter Orton.

“Excites is a terribly underrated stallion who was disadvantaged with the plethora of stallions in the Hunter Valley, yet was still good enough to hold his own. With the promise of great support and opportunity, Excites is sure to do very well in his new home with John Dean at Springfields ”

From one of Australia’s greatest producing families, his dam is blue hen mare, multiple Group winner Staging. He is the only son of ultra-consistent sire Danewin at stud and is the elder half -brother to emerging sires Duporth and Tickets.

Excites yearlings have sold up to $150,000 and he continues to produce horses that train on. Excites will be a significant contribution to the Queensland Stallion ranks for many years to come.
