EXCITING Dubleo gelding Skateboard made light work of his rivals in yesterday’s final event at Canberra to post his third win from four outings.

The Guy Walter-trained four-year-old carried topweight of 60.5kgs and started with only one horse outside him in the 1280m Benchmark 60 Handicap drawing on to a 0.8-lens win at the prohibitive odds of $1.35.

Skateboard won his debut by 7-lens at the nearby Goulburn racecourse before winning impressively at Hawkesbury in a Class One two weeks after.
The horse’s only defeat came at Warwick Farm on heavy (9) where he fought on doggedly to finish just 0.5L off the winner in fourth.

”Guy Walter is famous for taking horses through their grades but one would imagine it won’t be long before Skateboard returns to the city,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.
”Like Dubleanny and many other first crop Dubleo’s, he looks to have a very bright future.”
