EXCITES added a new stakeswinner to his tally when the always consistent Sistine Demon posted a well-earned black-type win the VRC Super Saturday Stakes L (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday.
The Andrew Noblet trained 4YO started $3.50 int he feature off the back of his nose defeat in the Kilmore Cup all of two weeks prior.
A noted tough on-pacer, Sistine Demon kept to his task dutifully to hold off the stakeswinning Dubleo mare Koonoomoo over the final stages.
Sistine Demon’s win was the 7th of his career (from 15 starts) and took his overall earnings to more than $320,000.
The gelding is the fourth foal of the Peintre Celebre mare Famous Painter who is also the dam of stakeswinner and Group 1 runner-up (to Black Caviar) Sistine Angel by Testa Rossa.
Famous Painter’s most recent raced foal is Artistic Lass (by Myboycharlie) is being aimed the ATC Oaks.
After that she foaled a Big Brown filly in 2012 and full brother to Sistine Angel in 2013.
