Jockey Corey Brown rated Sasso Corbaro a stakes winner of the future after easing her down to an effortless victory at Newcastle on Thursday.

A magnificent looking filly, she is the 11th individual winner by Vinery sire All Too Hard this season.  She camped on the speed before dropping the leader and winning as she pleased in the NJC Spring Carnival 2yo Maiden (1150m).

“That was painless.  She’s a lovely, lovely filly,” Brown said.  “She still learning and wandered about a bit in the straight but that’s only because she’s still immature.

“She will furnish into a Stakes grade filly next season after a spell.”

Sasso Corbaro is owned by China Horse Club and started a short-priced $1.30 favourite after narrow losses in her first two starts at Canterbury.  She was nailed by Manicure last month and then appeared all over a winner before going down a nose to Tennessee Tango on July 5.

“She got the job done and could have found more if required,” trained Kris Lees said.  “She’s come to the end of this prep and will come back a nice 3yo.  The spring could come too quickly – we will probably bring her back for the Magic Millions carnival.”

Bred and sold by Mill Park for $290,000 at the 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions, Sasso Corbaro is from Morphettville winner Furline (Tale Of The Cat) who was also placed in a Nitschke Stakes-LR.  Mill Park’s Epsom Hcp-Gr.1 winner Captain Sonador is another close relation.

Mill Park principal Chris Watson has supported All Too Hard from the outset at Vinery and remembers Sasso Corbaro as an “absolute delight” to prepare for the Magic Millions.

“She didn’t put a foot wrong the whole way through to the sale,” he recalled immediately after her Newcastle victory.  “All Too Hard has been one of our favourite sires.  He was a cracking racehorse and we’ve booked another three mares into him this season.”

Bloodstock agent Michael Wallace was upbeat after winning a bidding duel to buy Sasso Corbaro for China Horse Club on the Gold Coast.   “She’s one of the better fillies in the sale,” he declared.  “She’s a great mover with the frame to grow into a lovely 3yo.”

All Too Hard’s 11 individual winners puts him on top of the Australian-bred first-crop premiership with Your Song.  In equal third place on 8 winners are Golden Archer and Pierro.
