Vinery Stud’s Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Samaready (More Than Ready) will return to Price’s Caulfield stable today in preparation for a spring campaign.

Samaready missed most her three-year-old season, after finishing fourth when favourite on a bog track in the Quezette Stakes (Listed, 1100m) at Caulfield last August, the daughter of More Than Ready (Southern

Halo) spent the spring on a spell but then suffered a muscle strain in her hindquarters ending her autumn campaign.

“She struck a heavy track first-up last spring and she had a bug, so that was that,” Price said.

However Price said that all reports from pre-training were positive and he looked forward to Samaready arriving at Caulfield “bigger and better than ever.”

“She has to come up as a four-year-old mare in the Stakes races, set weight and penalty races I guess,” Price said.

“The problem with her as a four-year-old mare is that all horses around her are big, strong well grown horses and she was a fairly ready type of two-year-old ready at the time.”
