TESTA Rossa filly Rubyone has a chance to become her sire’s 47th individual stakeswinner when she travels to Adelaide for the Lightning Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville this weekend.

The Cranbourne based 3YO has posted 2 wins and a second from her only five career starts.

She resumed with and come from behind win at Geelong on June 14 before flashing home to be beaten 1.6-lens in a hotly contested fillies affair at Caufield two weeks ago.

Rubyone is a chestnut coloured filly out of the Encosta De Lago mare Betterthanblushing whose own dam, Strike Me Blushing, won 7 races and was placed in the Group 2 MVRC Laurent Perrier.

Tomorrow’s feature is registered as the Lightning Stakes but it perhaps better known as the Dermody Stakes and boasts an honour roll including Oenjay Star, Redelva, Sarason, Innovation Girl and more recently, Augusta Proud – the More Than Ready who won the Gold Coast and Adelaide version of the Magic Millions in 2008.
