PROMISING Myboycharlie 3YO Loyalist looks ready for a return to town after making light work of his rivals the NJC Safety Stations Maiden (1400m) at Newcastle.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding started $2.60 favourite against a quality line-up including placegetters Ship Harbour and Demosthenes, both from the Darley stable.

Loyalist has won or placed at 3 of his 5 starts including a nose second at Warwick Farm in a 2YO maiden on debut and follows Artistic Lass’ dominant 7 length victory in Sydney earlier in the week.

Loyalist races in the familiar purple and white starts of Star Thoroughbreds who purchased the horse for $165,000 at the 2012 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast.

The dam, Montelimar, is a stakes-placed daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Fusiachi Pegasus and the 2001 Keith Mackay winner Allez France.
