VINERY foundation sire Red Ransom brought up his 16th individual Group or Grade One winner when English-bred mare Reggane won the $1 million E.P Taylor Stakes in Canada overnight.

Reggane joins an illustrious band of thoroughbreds including Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy, overseas champions Electrocutionist, Perfect Sting and Bail Out Becky as well as local stars like Onemorenomore, Duporth, All American and Charge Forward.

International G1 races won by Red Ransom progeny include the Dubai World Cup, Epsom Oaks, del Mar Oaks, Juddmonte Stakes, Louisiana Derby, Gran Premio del Jockey Club as well as a host of Australian majors.

Reggane is one of 99 stakeswinners sired by Red Ransom who is poised to become one of a rare order of stallions to have sired 100 or more black-type winners.
Among them are Danehill, Northern Dancer, Mr Prospector, Storm Cat, Sadler’s Wells, Sunday Silence, Sir Tristram and Zabeel.

As with all of the above, Red Ransom is fast becoming a recognised and sought after sire of sires, particularly in Australia where several of his sons have already sired stakeswinners.

Vinery is home to Red Ransom’s only Group or Grade One winning two-year-old, Onemorenomore, who is currently working his way through a magnificent first book of mares.
”Onemorenomore is performing exceedingly well in the breeding barn and is proving to be a very fertile stallion,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.
