Following his 99th Stakes winner, Vinery foundation sire Red Ransom is certain to play a role in the outcome of Saturday’s VRC Victoria Derby Gr.1 (2500m) as the dam-sire of popular elect Retrieve.

Red Ransom is still at a relatively early stage in establishing himself as a broodmare sire here – in fact, in Australia, the oldest horses who claim the son of Roberto as their dam-sire are just six-years-old.
Already Red Ransom daughters have delivered four stakeswinners including Retrieve, Chance By, Moulin Lady and Guy Walter’s Slapstick.

Taken in a global sense, Red Ransom boasts 52 stakeswinners and 51 stakes-placed horses via his many daughters and winners in almost 40 countries.

Meanwhile, Red Ransom is now just a single new Stakes winner away from joining the elite “100 Club” after blue-blooded entire Ransom Hope carried off the Premio Nearco in Rome at the weekend.
