HOT on the heels of boom 3yo Verrazano’s partial sale to Coolmore, another More Than Ready 3yo is in the headlines with Transylvania Flash dominating to win it’s maiden by over 8 lengths.

Transylvania Flash took to two turns for the first time with gusto as the 3-year-old by More Than Ready exploded to an 8 1/2-length maiden special weight score on Presidents’ Day at Oaklawn Park.

Breaking from post 10 in a field of 11 going 1 1/16-miles, Transylvania Flash sped right to the front to get the rail around the first turn. The Donnie K Von Hemel trainee was up a length and a half after a quarter mile, relaxed some into the final turn, then cut loose after straightening for home to decimate his competition.

Owned by Larry Hirsch and Wayne Sanders, Transylvania Flash is a half-brother to Borderland Derby winner Fusa Code out of the multiple stakes winner Lasting Code.

More Than Ready, who joined the WinStar stallion roster in 2013, is a champion sire in both the U.S. and in Australia, where he has sired six millionaires. He is the sire of three Breeders’ Cup winners in the past three years, and of the recent ultra-impressive 3-year-old winner Verrazano, a 16-length victor at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 2, and subject of a recent sale to Coolmore.
