MOSSMAN gelding Prince Braeman notched his second career stakes win today with a comfortable victory in the Listed BRC Chief De Beers Handicap (1110m) at Doomben.

The Novacastrian travelled just off the speed leading into the bend before making his claim mid-stretch surging on to a 1.3-lens win.

”He has taken a bit of step up in the past 12 months. He won a Listed race [the Razor Sharp Stakes] last time in and he has just kept on improving,” trainer Paul Perry said.

Perry added that while Prince Braeman was in the Stradbroke he would have to look for an alternate race to circumvent any chance that he might not secure a berth.

”I think the 1000m of the Lightning might be a bit short but we’ll find something for him,” Perry said.

Prince Braeman has won 9 races in 36 starts and earned over $385,000 for connections.
