ONE of Vinery’s strongest ever line-up of stallions were paraded in front of a large crowd of onlookers under blue skies at the Farm’s annual Open Day over the weekend.

All 9 of Vinery’s team took their turn to impress the gathered throng who were anxious to pay homage to the likes of proven stallions More Than Ready, Testa Rossa and Mossman as well as the high profile ‘new boys’ Congrats and Pluck.

Vinery’s parade coincided with an international Group 1 sweep by resident sires Testa Rossa (Ortensia in the UK) and Congrats (Turbulent Descent – 4th Grade 1 in USA).

Most eyes were naturally enough focused on Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Pluck who takes up stud duties alongside his world champion sire, More Than Ready from this season.

“Pluck was very well received at our open days by Breeders, everybody can see the quality he has,” says Vinery’s Adam White.

“He had quite a long trip over here doing his quarantine in New Zealand, however he has settled in well and just looks fantastic at the moment.

“As a result Pluck will cover a great book for his first season. He has proven to be very accessible to a wide range of breeders and the quality of mares he is going to receive is excellent, many stakes winners amongst them – we are extremely happy with the horse and the recpetion he’s received.  With this support,  Pluck is one to follow.”
