TWO of super sire More Than Ready’s Group 1 winners will be striving to turn back the clock when they line-up in stakes race son either side of the continent this weekend.

Magic Millions and Golden Slipper winner Phelan Ready has strangely been unable to win since his 2009 Rosehill triumph but has placed in a whopping nine other stakes races including close second in the Manikato Stakes Gr.1.

The Jason McLachlan-trained gelding was fifth in last year’s Doomben 10,000 Gr.1 and fourth in the Newmarket Gr.1 at Flemington before that.

Phelan ready came from last to be beaten a nose in the Group 3 George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm in the summer.

Tomorrow the Sunshine Coast 6YO will travel down to Ipswich for the famous Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) where he will regain his preferred wet track.

Meanwhile over in WA, former classic filly Dreamaway will contest the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes (1600m).

The Bob Peters owned and bred mare suffered through a frustrating sequence of placings in several WA feature Cups last preparation, a far cry away from his five straight wins in Perth’s 3YO classics including that rare WATC Oaks/Derby sweep in the autumn of 2011.
