A ROUSING barrier trial at Randwick on Monday morning has Husson mare Peron poised for a return win in the Group 3 ATC Sheraco Stakes (1200m) in Sydney tomorrow.

The four-year-old chestnut mare was given a let-up after her Brisbane carnival heroics which included three straight wins culminating in her 2-lens triumph in the Listed Gai Waterhosue Stakes (1350m) on Ipswich Cup day.

Peron presented in phenomenal shape at this week’s heats sprinting clear over the rise to thump her five rivals by a widening 6.8-lens.

Peron is a virtual mirror image of her unbeaten Champion Sire Husson and is one of the Vinery resident’s 5 stakeswinners.

Peron has drawn ideally in barrier 5 for veteran jockey Jim Cassidy and will use the Sheraco on route to the Group One Epsom Hcp.
