MORE Than Ready’s freshman son, Perfectly Ready has some serious Karaka Million contender’s in Brackenwood and Isaready after they quinellaed the opening 2yo race at Trentham.

The Lisa Latta-trained bay Brackenwood has now won both his starts and jumped as the heavily backed favourite to win today’s 800m dash in light of his sterling Waganui debut victory.

Brackenwood gave his supporters no cause for concern racing away to an easy 2-lens win ahead of Isaready – also by Brighthill Farm resident, Perfectly Ready.

“Perfectly Ready has made a tremendous start to his stud career,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.

“His first runner, Isle Be Ready, finished second in the Breeders’ Plate at Randwick which was followed quickly by his first winner.

“His yearling sold particularly well on the basis that they would be fast maturing 2YO’s with a chance at the Karaka Million.

“He has five or six of the top money earners which will give him a shot at winning the race with one of his first crop.”

Perfectly Ready’s rapid ascension casts his sire More Than Ready in a favourable light as a growing number of his sons including Sebring, Benicio, Ready’s Image, et al make their way to stud.
