EXCITES’ dam Staging’s reputation as a broodmare par excellence has been raised to a new level in the wake of Australian-bred South African supercolt, Delago Deluxe.

The Charles Laird trained 2YO is the first foal of Flying Spur mare Succeeding, a daughter of Staging who precedes this extraordinary mare’s Group 1 performers Excites, Duporth and Tickets.

Delago Deluxe was sold by Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud at the 2010 Magic Millions Yearling sale for $550,000 to Laird.

The son of Encosta de Lago posted his fourth straight win in as many starts when taking out the R$500,000 Group 1 Tsogo Sun Maverick Medallion (1200m) at Scottsville on the weekend.

”Staging is just incredible producer, she has threw three high class Group 1 colts who are now all at commercial studs and attracting a wide range of support from breeders,” says Vinery Stud’s Conor Phelan.

”Excites has been very popular in each season he has been at Vinery more so in light of the start he has made with his first crop with a number of promising two-year-olds including Amber’s Crown who has won over $220,000 and had four wins from six starts.”
