ONEMORENOMORE’S sire Red Ransom continues to have a major impact on racing and breeding four years after his sad passing.
Red Ransom’s last Australian-crop is currently three-year-olds and includes the multiple stakeswining filly, Thump.
Trained by Kris Lees, Thump was able to add last Saturday’s Group 2 ATC Surround Stakes to her previous wins in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes and Group 3 Champagne Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Thump was also placed in the Sweet Embrace and Furious Stakes.
“After that performance we will have to consider the Coolmore Classic now,” Lees said.
“I was a bit disappointed after the Light Fingers but Jimmy (Cassidy) recommended we put blinkers on and she would get 1400 metres.”
It is fitting that the filly races in the colours of Cressfield Stud given that there bred one of Red Ransom’s best ever performances; Onemorenomore.
A 4-lens winner of the Group 1 ATC Champagne Stakes beating Tickets and Manhattan Rain, Onemorenomore was sold for $800,000 as an Easter Yearling and is now firmly ensconced at Vinery where his father once stood.
