MORE Than Ready filly Dreamaway confirmed herself as the one to beat in next month’s $250,000 Group 3 WATC Oaks after a dominant win in last Saturday’s Listed WATC 1000 Guineas (1800m) at Ascot.

The Bob Peters bred and owned filly added the Guineas to her WATC W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) two weeks earlier, a race which she cleared out to win by 1.8-lens coming from off the pace.

”She went up 1.5kgs into Saturday’s race but was still too good,” Vinery Stud’s Conor Phelan.
”At this stage it looks full steam ahead for the Oaks and if she can win that, she would clearly be the best 3YO filly in Perth this year, if she isn’t already.”

Dreamaway is bred on the immensely successful More Than Ready / Danehill which has already produce one classic winner in Benicio (sire of Karrakatta Paate favourite Benny’s Halo) as well as NZ’s Leading First Season Sire and former Group One winner, Perfectly Ready.

”More Than Ready’s have won stakes races at a mile and a half and Dreamaway’s second dam is by Sir Tristram and the Perth Cup winner Rocket Racer and AJC Oaks winner Starzaan are in her pedigree, so she has every right to stay,” Phelan commented.
