MEANWHILE in the United States, Vinery sire Congrats `aka Mr 72.3 percent’ added two new stakes horses to the tally after 2YO’s Divergent View and Holiday Magic finished runner-up in separate Stakes features in Florida and Iowa on Saturday.

Both 2yo’s had won their previous start and both picked up black type in their Stakes debut with Divergent View going down by half a length to leader Designer Legs in the Prairie Gold Lassie Stakes L (1100m), and Holiday Magic finishing second in the Florida Stallion Desert Vixen Stakes L, (1200m).

Divergent View and Holiday Magic are 2yo’s from the only Vinery (Florida) book of mares that Congrats covered, having stood there for one season before moving to Kentucky.  Congrats’ previous three crops were from other Florida studs and have yielded exceptional results. Regardless of quality or quantity, Congrats success has been spectacularly consistent, which has never been so evident than when analysing his third crop of just 29 foals, which has already yielded a Stakes winner and 3 other stakes placed runner’s including Gr.1 placed Toasting.

Congrats has had 13 2yo runner’s already this season with fillies Divergent View and Holiday Magic being the first Stakes performers.

Congrats – the 2010 USA Leading First Season Sire – has so far sired 133 individual winners from 184 starters including 30 stakes performers (11 SW’ers and 19 SP’ed).

The son of champion sire A. P. Indy has three Grade 1 winners under the belt led by first crop daughter, Turbulent Descent, who took out four majors and was named Equal Top 3YO Filly (Sprint) on the WTR rankings last year.
