CANBERRA – MOSSMAN youngster Travaldo will be aimed at the inaugural $250,000 Inglis Nursery on December 19 after winning yesterday’s Inglis Bonus 2YO Handicap (1200m).
Travaldo pocketed an extra $50,000 for his efforts and earned automatic qualification into next years’ Black Opal Stakes.
The gelding was purchased for $38,000 at the 2009 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
“They are a group of really good people and the great thing is that quite a few of them have never raced a horse before, so this is a huge thrill,” part owner Graham Daley said.
“You couldn’t wish to race a horse with a better bunch of blokes and it’s fantastic to win a bonus in the Inglis Series, which I think is a great concept.”
Mossman’s current 2YO is shaping up as one of his best to date with three winners – Agister (pictured winning at Randwick on debut), Stirling Grove and Travaldo, plus Gimcrack Stakes runner-up Mafia Miss from only eight starters.
