MOSSMAN gelding Under The Eiffel broke a frustrating sequence of minor placings and luckless efforts by taking out the Listed TRC George Adams Stakes (1600m) at Launceston on Wednesday.

The five-year-old Stakes winner managed to overcome his wide draw shouldering his full allotment of 59kg on the slow track to post a length win over the local Banco Mo with Lord Of Brazil a further 1 1 /4-lens away in third.

Under The Eiffel’s latest Black Type triumph was his seventh career and takes his earnings to more than $450,000.

The Tony Vasil-trained galloper hadn’t won a race since he saluted in the Group 3 MRC Sandown Stakes (1500m) in November 2011 but has been in and around the money in some major races including a close-up third in the Listed VRC Chester Manifold Stakes (1400m) just three starts before his Tasmanian victory.

Under The Eiffel is one of 21 stakeswinners sired by Mossman among the likes of Group 1 performers Ofcourseican, Buffering, Love Conquers All, Segments and Golden Slipper runner-up, Pure Energy.
