MOSSMAN son Buffering was back to his brilliant best when streaking away to win his second consecutive Victory Stakes (1200m) at Doomben this afternoon.

The Robert Heathcote trained 5YO made this year’s race a one-act affair leading from the get-go before dashing away from his rivals at the top of the lane to win by a comfortable 3.3-lens margin.

It was a stunning return to the winners circle for Buffering who had been off the scene for an extended period subsequent to his Schillaci win in the spring.

Buffering has been placed in 7 Group 1 races (4th in 3 others) mostly behind the likes of Black Caviar and Hay List when at his peak.

A winner or over $2.2 million Buffering is one of 21 stakeswinners sired by Mossman alongside other Group 1 performers like Ofcourseican, Love Conquers All, Triple Honour, Segments and the Golden Slipper runner-up Pure Energy.
