MOSSMAN filly Mossfun will rocket into Golden Slipper calculations should she perform to expectation in tomorrow’s Group 3 ATC Widden Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens.
The Emirates Park owned filly created a huge impression on debut when taking out the $250,000 Inglis Nursery at Kensington on December 14.
Mossfun has the advantage of barrier 1 for this weekend’s feature and after a sterling trial at the venue earlier this month.
“She trialled very well the other day and she’s drawn the one so we’d expect her to run extremely well,” Emirates CEO Trevor Lobb said.
“It’s not an easy race by any means but she’s done everything right since she’s come back through and we couldn’t be more pleased.”
Mossfun is one of 8 stakeswinners sired by Mossman since August 1 alongside triple Group 1 winner Buffering, Melbourne spring carnival winners Dothraki and Plucky Belle as well as exports Racing Eight and Royal Zulu Warrior who have won their Group races in Asia and South Africa respectively.
