PERFECTLY Ready colt Fready Cougar will be out to bank some valuable prizemoney for a future tilt at the Karaka Million when he debuts in Australasia’s first two-year-old race of the season at Wanganui on Saturday.

The John Bary-trained youngster lines-up in this weekend’s 92.8 MORE FM (1200m) after scoring an easy win in a 400m official jump-out at Hastings.

Fready Cougar, one of two early season 2yo trial winners by Perfectly Ready, was purchased for $45,000 at the New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale in January from Nick and Ann-Marie King’s Brighthill Farm draft.

Given that he was sold during the Karaka sales series, Fready Cougar is eligible for a number of rich bonuses including the Karaka Million run at Ellerslie next January.

“Another Perfectly Ready won the first barrier trial held in Australia or New Zealand a month ago and now he stands a very good chance of winning the region’s first two-year-old race,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.
