VINERY resident More Than Ready’s influence on Australia’s major two-year-old races remained unchallenged when the stallion’s maternal grand-daughter Miracles of Life bounded away to win the $1m Group 1 VRC Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield yesterday.

The diminutive South Australian filly stretched her unbeaten sequence to four with a crushing win over opponents by a margin 1.5-lens.
Miracles of Life’s hot streak began at home in Adelaide with a 5.5-lens victory followed by another by 9-lens ahead of her 4.3-lens win in the Blue Diamond Preview on January 26.

Miracles of Life is a daughter of Not A Single Doubt out of the More Than Ready mare Dazzling Gazelle.

More Than Ready sired last year’s Blue Diamond Stakes winner Samaready who went on to place third in the Golden Slipper.

The grandson of Halo also sired consecutive Golden Slipper winners, Sebring (2008) and Phelan Ready (2009) and has twice been crowned Australia’s Champion Sire of 2YO’s, something he emulated in the USA in 2010 after siring both divisional winners of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, one of them via Vinery associate sire Pluck.
