GLAMOUR mare More Joyous makes her much anticipated return to racing in tonight’s blockbuster Group 1 Manikato Stakes where she locks horns with last season’s Champion 2yo, Sepoy, under lights at Moonee Valley.

The daughter of More Than Ready is striving for her sixth Group 1 stakes win with Waterhouse declaring the five-year-old to be in perfect shape to do so.

”It is a quality race and the two of them are such sexy sort of things, she’s the matriarch and he is the superstar that has taken all before him and is a very exciting colt,” Gai Waterhouse said.

”More Joyous has raced at the Valley and been very competitive and she is bigger and stronger than she has ever been. I’m quietly confident.”

Waterhouse, her favourite sire More Than Ready and John Singleton will team up again tomorrow this time in Sydney where Golden Slipper placegetter More Strawberries contests the Epsom Handicap (1600m).

”More Strawberries has come back like a colt, she’s big and strong and is wonderfully competitive as you saw at Newcastle,” Waterhouse told Sportsman.
