BIG Brown filly Miss Lucky Sevens has the opportunity to add her name to her sire’s expanding tally of stakeswinners when he tackles the Listed Sandy Blue Handicap at Del Mar in the USA this weekend.
The Kentucky bred 3YO has won 2 of her 6 starts to date including one each at Keeneland and Churchill Downs, the scene of her father’s epic 2008 Kentucky Derby win.
Big Brown has so far sired 39 individual winners (from 67 starters) including 4 stakeswinners and 2 stakes-placed.
One of those stakes-performers is Apollo Sonic, an American bred colt who finished third in this year’s Japan Derby.
Meanwhile, Big Brown’s first Group 1 winner could come as early as next month with US$1.3 million sale topping colt Darwin aiming at the prestigious Irish Champion Stakes (2012m), the race taken out by Aussie champ So You Think in 2011.
