MORE Than Ready’s incredible affinity with Danehill daughters was one factor that helped spur the exquisitely bred filly Mystical Miss to a empathic debut win at Ballarat this afternoon.

The Peter Moody trained filly made light work of her nine rivals to power on to a 1.8-lens win in the 2YO 1000m Maiden and step forward as a contender for better races that lay ahead in the autumn.

Mystical Miss, a $475,000 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling purchase, is out of VRC Oaks and VATC 1000 Guineas winner Magical Miss who was trained throughout her illustrious career by Bart Cummings.

The filly races in the colours of WA industry figure Bob and wife Sandra Peters who know first hand what an explosive match the More Than Ready/Danehill mare nick is having owned WATC Derby / Oaks winner Dreamaway.
She is one of three Group 1 winners bred on the cross joining VRC Derby hero Benicio and Goodwood Stakes winner and recent Champion NZ First Season Sire Perfectly Ready.
At last count there were more than 50 individual winners by More Than Ready out of daughters of Danehill.

Mystical Miss’ victory comes on the same day that the Melbourne Racing Club announced the 161 hopefuls to take out this year’s prestigious $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Srtakes (1200m) scheduled for Caulfield on February 23.

More Than Ready leads the list with 12 still in contention for the race taken out last year by his Vinery owned daughter Samaready.
