AUSTRALIA’S champion mares Typhoon Tracy and More Joyous were once again playing the role of ‘wonder women’ as the dynamic duo added more glory to their illustrious records in seperate states today.

At Caulfield, Red Ransom daughter and reigning Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy joined multiple C.F. Orr winners Manikato (3), Vo Rogue (3) and Lord as repeat winners of the 1400m feature dulying adding a sixth Group One win to her tally.

Meanwhile in Sydney, More Than Ready miss More Joyous made a dazzling return to racing with a soft 2.5-lens win in the Group Two ATC Breeders’ Classic (1200m).
It was the 11th win (from 15 starts) for the Gai Waterhouse trained mare whose earnings went past $1.5 million after this afternoon’s triumph.

“She was absolutely awesome today … just remarkable,” Waterhouse said.

“I’ll see how she pulls up and go from there but you just might see her in Melbourne next time.”

Waterhouse is considering aiming More Joyous at the Group One MRC Futurity Stakes (1400m).

This would open the door for a mouth-watering showdown with Typhoon Tracy who was a comofrtable winner of the race in 2010.

While no plans have been announced as to where Typhoon Tracy will head next, trainer Peter Moody was naturally full of praise for this epic mare.
“She’s my banner horse,” he said.
“It’s just great to see her back on top.”
