FLASHY chestnuts Peron and Looks Like The Cat can deliver Vinery sire Husson ‘stallion honours’ after Saturday’s Doomben 10,000 card is complete.

Vastly talented mare Peron’s hopes of taking out the main event are advanced by the fact that she is competing at her favourite track over her favourite distance having won the 1350m Gai Waterhouse Classic (at Ipswich) so easily, three weeks after winning at Doomben over the same distance.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the Tony Gollan trained colt Looks Like The Cat when he contests the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m).

The chestnut with the distinctive white blaze was an easy winner on debut at Eagle Farm on February 8 before being given a brief spell to concentrate on the Brisbane Winter carnival.
He fired the first shot of said campaign when runner-up in the Group 2 BRC Champagne Stakes (1200m) at Doomben two weeks ago.
