WELL related filly Artistic Lass has conditions made to order to record her first win when she lines-up in the Australian Turf Club Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens this weekend.

Heavy rain in Sydney over the past week has caused the track to be in the heavy range, a scenario that won’t worry this daughter of Myboycharlie.

Artistic Lass’ highset rating thus far came when she came from last to finish fourth in the Listed ATC Fernhill Quality (1600m) on a heavy 9 at Royal Randwick on April 20.

The David Payne-trained filly arrives at Rosehill off the back of her one-length fourth behind Koroibete, Amovatio and Pit Boss – all of whom are ear-marked for tomorrow’s contest.

Artistic Lass is the sixth foal of Peintre Celebre mare, Famous Painter, whose prior offspring include the Group 2 winner Sistine Angel (by Testa Rossa) who was also runner-up behind Black Caviar in the Group 1 SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) in 2012.

Since them Famous Painter has gone on to deliver a full sister to Sistine Angel as well as a filly by Big Brown last season.
