TOUGH Dubleo mare Koonoomoo looks ripe to add another major spring feature to her C.V in the coming weeks after a brace second in the Group 2 MRC Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Mornington trained 6YO had the unenviable task of taking the field up to tearaway leader Steps In Time as the big field turn for home.

Koonoomoo dashed up at the 300m and looked set for victory diminutive mare Red Tracer made her move eventually taking the race by 2.8-lens.

A winner of over $420,000 so far, Koonoomoo came from near last to win the 2012 Group 3 VRC Herald Sun (1400m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup.

Other highlights to this point include her 0.2-lens third in the Group 3 VRC Tressady Stakes (1400m) also at Melbourne’s racing HQ.
